They say that we know how to move and it is so also because we let ourselves be inspired by the land of Tuscia, its authenticity made of bright and vivid colors, the scent of spices that we use to season the traditional dishes that we propose in our menus, from the gentle slopes on which grow the olive trees and the vineyard that imprint of strong flavors and aromatic oil and wine that you taste during your stay and that animate your smiles, those with which we too welcome you and accompany you throughout your stay.
We are discreet hosts but at the same time attentive to your every need and since you are looking for something special that fits perfectly to the desires matured in this year so unusual and full of restrictions, we are happy that your fil rouge has reached us.
The journey of Daniele and Luigi:
the arrival
The three-day experiential journey we proposed to Daniele and Luigi began in a castle overlooking the small medieval village of Roccalvecce. A sumptuous residence from whose windows you can enjoy a splendid view of the countryside and the surrounding hills.
A territory that envelops the gaze, but the view of our guests was also captured by the interior walls of the structure, now luxurious hotel spread, frescoed with bucolic scenes and precious details of furniture, unique pieces that are found in the castle and in the beautiful room of the canopy, a princely suite in which Daniele and Luigi have arranged their luggage to reach on foot, walking through the streets of the village, the eighteenth-century park of the castle.
With the beautiful Italian garden, boxwood hedges, ancient and exotic trees, the fountain and the stone staircase, they finally relaxed by the pool sipping bubbles with the chirping of birds.
While our guests enjoyed an enchanting break in the green, the castle was busy preparing for the first dinner at court. In a unique setting, the belvedere terrace becomes in fact an en plein air lounge reserved for them.
On their return from the walk the seamstress and our hair stylist trusted them waiting for the final test of the tuxedos chosen a few days before taking advantage of our advice online, and for the last touch of hair and beard.
Perfected the details we found Daniele and Luigi very elegant and smiling ready to be accompanied on the terrace and give them a way to celebrate the reason for the trip: their wedding anniversary.
The sun lit the horizon of an intense orange highlighting the ruins of the village of Celleno on the top of the mountain in front. The amazement has been painted on their faces in attending to such a suggestive and exclusive panorama. After a few souvenir photos, we left them in the company of the maitre d’ who pampered them with excellent white wine and dishes chosen in perfect combination: persico pie, perch fillet in vine leaves and coregone fillet with citrus fruits to discover the flavors of the nearby Lake Bolsena.
The evening has descended bringing with it a full moon of a thousand and one nights.
On the second day:
the lake of Bolsena
In the morning Daniele and Luigi found a table decorated with the colors of burgundy, pink and orange and delicious organic delicacies and 0 km: jams, cakes, cappuccino and the scents of lavender…
After a princely night and a royal breakfast we accompanied our guests to get to know the surroundings. For the second day tour they opted for an alternative means of transport.
In fact, at the port of Bolsena we left them in the good hands of our boatswain Massimiliano and his wonderful private boat, with which they set sail to discover Lake Bolsena, the pearl of our territory.
The air was clear, clear the view of the two islands on the horizon, Martana and Bisentina, who calmly awaited them immersed in the deep blue of crystalline waters. Massimiliano told them the history and legends of these magical places reaching the port of Capodimonte where Daniele and Luigi went down to visit the Rocca Farnese, only after enjoying a delicious homemade ice cream.
With a short walk they came to the fortress to visit the roof garden, rich in history, evocative views and a centuries-old Japanese tree under which, knowing the passion of Louis for Japan, we had set up a romantic corner from which to enjoy a magnificent view and attend a performance of dance theater.
From here they returned to Bolsena aboard the boat, discovering the charm of the lake at dusk and then to the castle for a nice regenerating massage.
In the evening they wanted us to have dinner with them in the weapons room to learn some more secrets of this ancient and fascinating land. So we prepared them a gala dinner accompanied by delicious bubbles, a cinabrino of the company Murogrosso and dishes this time that described the hinterland, the woods and the valleys of Tuscia: a cutting board of local meats and cheeses; a cake with white meat sauce and porcini of Monte Cimino; the tower of pig in eggplant cream, golden cherry and fresh buffalo and to finish the cakes of fruit shortcrust. The evening passed quickly between laughter and anecdotes and good whiskey with cigar.
On the last day:
relaxation and tourism
On the last day of their trip Daniele and Luigi wanted to dedicate it to the discovery of Tuscia and a tour of the city of Viterbo and its thermal baths. Still wanting to take advantage of the good weather and appreciating the authenticity of our territory have asked us to indicate a place that was as naturalistic as possible and so we accompanied them to Bagnaccio, thermal baths and nature, where they could take advantage in complete relaxation of the benefits of the thermal waters that flow under the entire volcanic territory of Tuscia.
We prepared for them a picnic basket with many other good products of our land and the very good organic white wine of the company Valentini that they could taste in complete freedom before leaving home.
Our journey ends here. Knowing Daniele and Luigi, being able to satisfy their desires by bringing them closer to our beautiful territory, represented for us another challenge and a beautiful and enriching opportunity and, as every time in our work, another bond has been created spontaneously and continues beyond the single travel experience.
